Boys and Girls Club of Metro Louisiana partners with The 18th Ward

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana and The 18th Ward are excited to announce a new partnership aimed at expanding access to high-quality youth development programs and recreational opportunities in New Orleans. In January, the BGCMLA will begin sharing space with The 18th Ward at their Community Center in Hollygrove. Together, they will provide safe spaces, caring mentors, and engaging programs that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and leadership skills for local youth. This collaboration reflects their shared mission to ensure every child, regardless of zip code, can reach their full potential through equitable access to sports, education, and community support. A press conference was held to celebrate the partnership at The 18th Ward’s Trinity Community Center. As Angel Nelson, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana, stated, this partnership deepens their commitment to New Orleans youth, while Lowrey Crews, Founder & CEO of The 18th Ward, emphasized the goal of strengthening the community by increasing access to impactful youth programs.
