Stronger Together: The 18th Ward’s Partnership Programs

This month marks an exciting new chapter for The 18th Ward as we continue building meaningful partnerships that expand opportunities for young people across New Orleans. Collaboration has always been at the heart of our work, and we’re proud to share some big updates.

We launched our School Day programs with Homer Plessy and The Good Shepherd School for the new school year! These programs bring the energy and values of The 18th Ward directly into schools, blending physical activity, leadership development, and teamwork into the school day. By integrating our approach into school settings, we’re helping students stay active, engaged, and inspired from morning to afternoon.

We also restarted our After School Program in partnership with Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) at both their Central City and New Orleans East locations. These programs give young people a safe and supportive space after the final school bell rings—whether that means participating in sports, developing life skills, or receiving mentorship from trusted coaches and staff. After school is a critical time for growth, and we’re proud to join forces with YEP to make it count.

These partnerships reflect what we believe at The 18th Ward: that community transformation happens when organizations come together, share resources, and align missions. By teaming up with schools and nonprofits, we’re able to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and make sure that every child has access to safe, fun, and meaningful opportunities. Together, we’re building stronger futures for the youth of New Orleans—one school, one after-school program, and one partnership at a time.
